I'm the first one to say we need a line like that third line, and I loved it at first, but I don't want to even touch that Matthews line - man have they been dominant. I'm not saying it was the Hyman-Jumbo switch that caused it, but they have really taken it to another level as of late with Hyman, so I would be reluctant to play around with that.

I'd have Engvall over Vesey and sure to the rest.

They were dominant with Thorton as well.

Keefe apparently is hesitant to return the lines to where they were at before the injuries as rn the lines currently seen have been performing well. Yes the third line is kind of sending mixed messages but its not a game changing issue.

Robertson may get a game or two but honestly because the AHL is making an exception for OHL and WHL players signed to teams this season I would send him down to get more development time in.

Thorton is tricky as I see 2 possibilities. 1. Thorton plays with Tavares and Nylander as Keefe has been looking for a LW to play with them. The 2nd option get his 3rd line going by making thorton the 3c and moving Kerfoot to LW.

He shot 4%, that will never hold over a long period of time. His goal scoring streak had more to do with just trends evening our over Thorton vs Hyman. Possession, high danger chances and the rest where all still dominant with Thorton.

Matthews has had 2 goals and 5 points in 5 games with Jumbo, Marner has had 3 goals and 6 points in 5 games with jumbo.

Matthews has had 9 goals and 11 points in 8 games with Hyman, Marner has had 3 goals and 15 points in 9 games with Hyman.

So as I said, they have taken it into another gear of dominance with Hyman. Not saying they weren't dominant before. And not a slight on Jumbo, I liked that line, but don't break up your best line on both sides of the puck.

That is just correlating results that are not entirely correct. Matthews has been dominating all season and just didn't score in his first 5 games. Keep him with Hyman and he'll have 5 game stretches where he has 1 goal. But you guys are convinced and were to begin with. Doesn't matter what reality says.

I'm curious, where's Petan? He's had jump and I wouldn't just take him out of the lineup because guys are healthy.

Play him til he gives you a reason to take him out.

He’s been fine, I just think we have better options. I’d listen to an argument he’d be a better fit than Vesey for the 4th line but if I’m not mistaken Vesey has chewed up some PK time which has value.
