I don't know much about laughton, is he gonna be an upgrade over him? and the main thing is can he slide up the lineup when we see injuries.
i never know how i feel about compher. He didn't look the greatest on 1st line thats for sure, a couple pretty bad turnovers, and his penalty came at a bad time but the guy ran makar so what are you gonna do. I've seen players not get an extra 2 mins hundreds of times on the same play.

To me this is a move to just make a move. Sure Compher has struggled but the answer isn’t to replace him with a less talented guy. I maintain the answer for the 3rd line is to move him to wing and put jost there.

I definitely think that Laughton is better than compher. And for him moving up the the lineup, I think most people can especially if they can go play with Rantanen and Landy. It shouldn’t be a problem for him.

I’m also not sure about compher, because I know he can be a 20 goal scorer but he’s also playing very poorly right now.

Sure I could understand that, but in some cases in order to spark a line you might have to make a trade.

And doing something rash in the middle of an epic injury barrage could lose you the locker room if you make the wrong trade. Let’s not forget the Avs have been winning. Good teams find different ways to win. I just wouldn’t do it because it 100% feels like a move for the sake of a move not a move to improve the team.

So you say that you think Laughton is the better player but the Flyers are giving up a 3rd while also taking on more salary even with the retention. I think the flyers would pass

Laughton is better than Compher, plays all positions and has moved up and down the lineup.

COL would be adding more than that, otherwise its nothing to does anything for PHI. PHI needs a top 2 pairing RD, and if Graves can play RD, then maybe they make that move, but Laughton (even as a UFA) carries more value than COmpher, and compher is not what PHI needs.

Yeah, it just doesn't do anything for PHI.

Its in all likelihood its a very late 3rd and based on both teams projections and expectations, I cant see PHI doing a lateral, if not a downgrade, move, with the playoffs coming.
