MTL
  1. Hammond, Andrew
Détails additionnels:
Hammond hasn't been very productive lately and Ottawa has already found a replacement in Condon. Wasting 2 more years with his overpaid contract is a bit ignorant.

Montoya lately has been playing like a see-saw. But unlike ordinary see-saws you don't know when Montoya is going to pull a 3-game win streak or another 10-0 loss. Therefore it's a lot safer if Montreal were to get Hammond as he's better statistically than Montoya. I also would imagine that Montreal wound't be very hesitant to trade away a 3rd rounder as they are more of a playoff team than a rebuilding team like Ottawa.

Détails additionnels:
If Clarke MacArthur plays over 120 games before the 2018 draft, the 3rd rounder becomes a 2nd rounder.
CBJ
  1. MacArthur, Clarke
  2. Pyatt, Tom
Détails additionnels:
Ottawa definitely needs to get rid of MacArthur. Sure, he's a lovable player, when he's on the ice. With his injuries comes his salary, personally it's better to waive his no trade clause as there are high chances that he won't play as many games or put up as many points as that salary should be given for.

Whenever Ottawa gets a prospect, they often trade the player away before the player reaches their prime. Zdeno Chara, Jakob Silfverberg, Brian Elliot, Ben Bishop, Nick Foligno or top picks; 2010 #16 (Vladimir Terasenko), 2009 #26 (Kyle Palmieri), 2000 #118 (Lubomir Vishnovsky). Luckily for Ottawa, Wennberg is posting some good points so far, so he will be in his prime before anyone gets the idea that he will be traded somewhere else.

I honestly have no idea why Ottawa signed Pyatt... Management knows they have to many 3rd and 4th line centers but they keep signing them. Varone is often a NHL 4th liner or AHL 1st line. Sure seeing Chris Kelly in a Sens jersey brings back old memories but the last season he played really well was when he had his first full season with the Bruins. Finally Pyatt, he is a 3rd line NHLer. Why? Well think about it, Pyatt had a short stint of 2 seasons being consistent with points in the NL (Switzerland), but when he was drafted he was getting up to 81 points a season! In the AHL he was getting around 35 points per season. And, finally, in the NHL he would get around 18 points a season. So don't be surprised if he gets low points this season.

(P.S. the 3rd round is because of Clarke MacArthur not Pyatt, lol)

DET
  1. Borowiecki, Mark
  2. Choix de 6e ronde en 2017 (OTT)
Détails additionnels:
Honestly, I don't think either team needs the player that they are giving. Borowiecki hasn't done much for the team other than becoming the next Matt Carkner and there are just too many good defense on Detroit for Marchenko to play decently. With Green and Kronwall on first pair, Dekeyser and Ericsson on 2nd, Marchenko will soon fade to obscurity when Sproul and Ouellet start to develop further. Borowiecki has no future on a team that's trying to be more efficient and Marchenko might have more of a chance to impress on Ottawa than on Detroit.

Since Dallas is projected high this year by many analysts at NHL.com, I'd imagine that they'd accept this deal.

OK.

I'm gonna take this at full value that your actually serious.

Giving Higgins 2.2M is like getting John Scott out of retirement and signing him to a 8 year............Sure your can do it. But it makes no sense. Higgins is fringe NHL at this point and if you really wanted him, you could have him signed for league minimum.

Hammond for a 3rd round pick? Wasn't he put waivers recently? He was available for free and nobody wanted him. Go figure.

MacArthur is probably finished as a player. In what world does a team trade for him? Would you trade for Chris Pronger? No he's retired and injured to boot. And to add injury to insult, your trading for Wennberg who is a very good player and young and cheap. etc etc

Borowiecki trade is the most realistic trade here and to be honest, thats not saying much.

Dallas trade? You just contradicted your own explanation. Dallas who is looking like they are going to finish low this year are trading their 2nd rounder which will be almost like a 1st rounder for picks that will be much higher but more of them. Yeah sure quantity over quality but for this to work you'd have to give Ott's 2nd rounder and MTL's 3rd rounder just to move up to where Dallas is looking to be picking this year.

Sorry but this was really bad. Don't stop though. Learn from other posters and you'll get the hang of it. But yeah there is a lot here that shows you aren't too knowledgeable yet. We all started somewhere though.

P.S if you were trolling, then shame on you. Sticking Out Tongue
n you just wasted my time.

No I wasn't trolling.

- Follow-up MacArthur
MacArthur is scheduled to return in January therefore his career may not be over, hence why I put in a trade instead of just terminating his contract
- Follow-up Higgins
I do understand that Higgins is a fringe-player, but there have been players who have made comebacks later in their career: Tim Thomas (but to late because he was absolute garbage after Boston), both Mario Lemieux and Saku Koivu had to take a few years off of player to battle lymphoma
I also have seen way worse signings on this site
- Follow-up Borowiecki
I almost didn't put that in there until I noticed his stats

Thanks for critiquing it, it's very helpful

Wennberg is currently performing better than Ryan Johansen ever did in union blue.
