Description

Toronto gets a slight upgrade for a deep playoff push with a back up goalie
Philly gets more scoring power to add into their top 6 with a few years of cheap Gaudreau before resigning him long term. Cgy deals him before his NTC kicks in. (Which wouldn't include Philly anyways but still)
Cgy has to receive salary back in the philly deal so they pick up a d man. Which is already deep on the left side, so they flip him to a team desperate for defence and take a chance on a young right shot RW which they desperately need to develop. In turn, CGY doesn't get immediately better, however they add some great potentially young players, create cap space and upgrade the 3rd from the lucic deal to a late 1st.... just a few small transactions, no big deal.

Gost has 3 years remaining on his contract why the hell would edmonton do that? Edmonton is even more screwed on forward depth. There is a chance Klefbom is back next year at which point they are either set or make a move then. They have lots of young defence that will make their way into the lineup as early as March So it’s not a long term problem.

If we have an issue in net and it’s Fred , then I say upgrade the starter. Leaves us less hassle this offseason. If it’s the backup find a backup via trade.

Pretty sure we value him pretty high. His 200 foot game is already so good for a young player. Could see Frost being moved, I don’t know how we keep both with all the centers we have.
