Cheering for Calgary has to be the most frustrating decision of my life. Outside of goaltending this team literally never shows up for the first period of the game. It's like they play for style points

Almost as bad as they were 2-3 years ago where they couldn’t play with a lead but consistently came back in the 3rd. It was almost better for them to be down 3-1 than up 3-1 after 40 minutes lol, lotta similarities this year in that they don’t seem to wake up until deep into the game. The commentators keep talking about how good Lucic is on the room and as a “presence” on the ice, maybe he can earn his keep by walking them up earlier moving forward.

I remember saying verbatim “if we don’t score the next one we’re going to lose” as soon as we scored the 3rd one lol, and then Lucic took his first stupid penalty of the night and I knew it was all going downhill from there. This team likes coasting too much, especially without Tkachuk. I thought we improved our depth this off-season but so far they’ve done nothing, it’s getting annoying having to rely on Johnny+the PP. Mangiapane had about 8 good chances tonight and did nothing. Leivo, Bennett, and Simon aren’t doing anything either.
