Barkov is going to want so much more

Barkov will get more than 6M. He’s a top 5 center in my opinion.

Steep price for Cernak. Barkov will make somewhere closer to $10 mil plus. Dude’s a freakin stud at both ends of the ice and will only be 26-27 when he’s a UFA.

I changed Barkov to 8 mil, he definitively deserves more than 6 mil.

Also I traded for Cernak so I couldn't make him less money.

So let me understand your logic you trade a 1&2 for Cernak, but don’t think he’s worth 3mil per huh?
I don’t care this isn’t going to be popular here but if Cernak keeps up at the progression he is it’s gonna cost more than one and two in 2 years

I think they will, if Varlamov plays like he did in the playoffs, then Edmonton would be unstoppable with McDavid, Draisaitl and finally a good goalie.

I respect that, but I disagree still. Barkov isn't that guys who goes on the highlight real, because that’s not the way he plays. He is more of a 2-way center, that is very good defensively, but pretty decent offensively. He’s a top 5 in my opinion.

I’m not talking about my option here or highlight reel goals like the one Barkov scored against Montreal, Barkov was just average defensively last year and he has become overrated due to the amount of people calling him underrated, coots and orielly are both better defensively then Barkov aswell, so where point Matthews and petty last year

If you actually watch him at all, he’s better defensively. So saying I don’t watch hockey because of that is pretty ridiculous haha. Maybe this coming up year you should watch some Florida games, and see what he can do. Just because he plays on a bad team doesn’t make him bad.

I live in Florida, I don’t use the eye test because I’m not 5 years old I use analytics which is factual information gathered by people and machines that watch every second of every game to give full proof charts which are based on fact not option which show that Barkov was just average defensively so you can keep saying this my option hubabalo, but facts don’t care about your opinions

Not sure I agree. Koskinen will be a UFA summer 2022 (when this trade occurs) and they'll have to make a decision. Varlamov is 1-year, $5M at that point, so there's basically no risk. If he's still playing at career averages, I would certainly be open to considering this trade... maybe he'd be a good mentor for Konovalov, too.


Potentially Koskinen can be just as good, but the track record is short and he's a UFA summer of '22. I could see Edmonton doing this deal for sure, depending on what happens over the next 2 seasons of course.

How many years do you want to look at? Also, Pettersson played LW for the entire 2019-20 campaign.

Petterson is a center he is registered as a center, and I said this year defensively but overall from 2017- now all the guys I listed are better than Barkov
