As a Leaf fan I look forward to our top players feasting on those guys. Bear is pretty good but Nurse is just not very good. 2nd pair at best.

Not the Leafs, your top 6 give up more chances than they create and our top 6 is the opposite. Plus the Leafs are one of the least penalized teams in the league which nullifies your biggest strength. It's not a matchup you should ever look forward to. Sure McDavid can take over a game from time to time but against TO it hasn't happened often. Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander can match them and our superior defence does the rest

That is such a pointless narrative you continue to use. I think only Yamamoto with a very small sample size had a positive xGF% the rest were negative and your big 3 guns all were negatives last season. With an even worse defence than last year that'll be exemplified. Looking at TO, all of our big 4 had very good XGF%, Matthews numbers were close to the league best. What does that mean? I am glad you asked. It means that despite huge scoring from your top guys, they routinely give up more chances than they generate at 5v5 and got scored on more than they scored, what saved them is their PP points. So how will that work when taking on a team whose top players produce way more offence than they give up (Matthews is one of the best in the league in that regard) and also their team is one of the least penalized in the league? How does Edmonton fair against a team that is strong at everything they are weak at? How does their almost best ever PP help them when they don't get chances? Edmonton will have some good stretches and be in the running for a playoff spot but it won't take much for their season to fall off a cliff. They are in a much tougher division than last season and have to take on some much better teams many times more than they did last year. I don't like your chances.

It's the entire body of work we have from last year. It's small but it gives the lie to your suggestion that Toronto's overpaid 4 are going to "feast" on the Nurse-Bear combo.

Blah, blah, blah. You made the assertion that the Leafs' Overpaid 4 can match the Oilers best 4 players offensively. You were wrong, as usual.

Just ignore reality dude, it won't protect you from disappointment. Edmonton beat TO once in the past how many years and that one game is all you'll point to. That is confirmation bias at its best.

I am hanging my hat on mountains of evidence to support the reality that Edmonton is terrible at 5v5 and when that matches up against a team that is among the best at 5v5 and one of the least penalized teams, it won't be good for you. But hey let's talk about that one game, that tells the whole story. You're so much fun to chat with, just hopelessly unhinged.

You completely ignored actual proof of facts to continue on your Toronto fan rampage. The fact that your getting so defensive shows your scared. You know it's not written in stone Toronto is better, you know they will struggle in all Canadian division and your just try to get everyone else riled up aha won't work bud, best of luck bud, get wait to watch McDavid alone embarrass your entire team!

Oh my! You have

Reilly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Dermott-Bogosian

Us

Nurse-Bear
Vatanen-Barrie
Jones-Larsson

Look at that more depth. Dermott is okay, Bogosian, and Holl suck, third pair at best. As we would have Larsson on our third, which is a top 4 defence man! Ours would have more depth haha! Your being a homer if anything.
