That would certainly be more enticing, imo.

Sandin-Lundkvist was pretty good in 2020 WJC too, could have something very special there.

Could sub him for Nils Lundkvist or Braden Schneider to make it more palatable

I like Lundkvist, but don't know everything about him. Seeing as he has a few years pro experience, can he step into Top 4 next year, in your opinion?

I'd be one to say he definitely is, throw him with Sandin like in the 2020 WJC and watch Sandin-Lundkvist be the best young offensive pair in the NHL.

having him on an ELC (as opposed to fox likely wanting big bucks in 21-22) would be invaluable as well.

I was just going to mention that lol. I was watching some WJC highlights earlier today and was thinking 'that'd be nice'.

I'd say he'd be best suited with Sandin on the third pair to start. You don't want to rush him but not saying he can't blow his way up the pairing with his performance.

Yeah, he's not even signed yet. 3-years at $925K is a crazy.

Yeah. If Dermott took a step this year, and claimed top 4 spot, then Sandin Lundkvist could be a solid 3rd pair, that can be eased in.

I love Nylander, but I'd definitely consider this.

Like many have said, leafs don’t really need deangelo. I bet they would be interested in lundkvist. Maybe drop the first and deangelo and add him? Idk if that’s fair.

    Quoting: Barilko14
    Props for getting proper value.

I just can't see Leafs being interested in DeAngelo.

Need what?? A 25 year old top 4 defender. That is a Right-handed shot and plays both RHD and LHD. I think every team needs that’s..wants that..lol. Defense is so valued in the NHL and it’s hard to get a good one. Even below average ones are still valued. IE, Ceci, Jack Johnson, J.Shultz, M.Staal, Zaitsev. With Dermott or Holl maybe going in the expansion draft, Lentonen not proven at all(not one NHL game yet), Sandin and Liljegren still who knows(Sandin got pushed around last year when he played in the NHL, really good AHL season though). I think Deangelo would be a welcomed player in Toronto. Especially if this actually was the trade.

He’s an offensive defenseman. The leafs signed Brodie instead of Barrie of a reason. The leafs forwards generate offense even if their defence can’t skate (Ceci) the impact of that type of player on the leafs is small. I also think lundktvist is a great prospect with top pair potential and him being on his ELC helps the leafs Cap

Gotcha!! That I agree with. Rielly and Brodie are both really good Offensive D. And good on the PP. And to get Deangellos full value he does need PP time!! IMO too, Deangello’s value is way higher than Lundqvist or Schnieder. For all the reason I said. Especially that he’s a proven NHL player and the other 2 are just potential prospects.!! Some hit, some don’t. actually most don’t!! Although I thought and still do think the leafs should have taken Schneider in the draft instead of Amirov, but that’s another convo!! And I would tend to agree that Buch and Fox would still be good value for Nylander. From the Rangers side.

Ya I get that. If you think the rangers would need to add another pick/higher pick I mean I wouldn’t mind lol. I would also love to have fox but I don’t think he would play anywhere outside of NewYork based on his past history.

Lol. Im not the OP. No, I think Bush, Deangello(or Lundgvist or Schneider) and a 1st and a 2nd would be great value for Nylander. I think you can probably just do the 1st round pick. A young, proven, NHL player with potential still (Buch), a top 100 prospect(Lundqvist or Schneider) and a 1st round pick is what I think Nylanders value is. From any team. And they would have multiple offers and every team has those pieces. IMO though, that package would probably be one of the best.

I’m just realistic about prospects too. I know leafs fans love theirs and are so optimistic!! Leafs fans just admitted Bracco is a bust, and only cause they didn’t re-sign him. If they did, most wild still be saying he has top 6 potential..lol. But that’s good!! Like I said some hit and some don’t!! And most don’t from the statistics. Like 60% of 1st round picks miss in the NHL. I would always take the proven NHL player. And so would 99.9% of GM’s.

I appreciate you not following the pretense. Everyone thinks he's terrible when in reality it's simply this:

    DeAngelo Offensively: Top Pairing
    DeAngelo Defensively: 3rd Pairing

Kings aren't trading Fagemo. Short of offering up Lafreniere or Kakko (which would obviously be stupid), the Rangers don't have anything that would entice LA to trade away Fagemo. Top-six wing is the single biggest need for LA, even with Fagemo in the system.

Kings aren't trading Fagemo. Short of offering up Lafreniere or Kakko (which would obviously be stupid), the Rangers don't have anything that would entice LA to trade away Fagemo. Top-six wing is the single biggest need for LA, even with Fagemo in the system.

Good to know. Robertson isn't of interest? Safe to say he has top 4 potential and is LHD.

He's good enough defensively, played there in the AHL under Sheldon Keefe, played there in Sweden. Still young enough to adapt to it?

    Props for getting proper value.

I just can't see Leafs being interested in DeAngelo.

Yea....they did leave Barrie to go, but if DeAngelo improves his defense why wouldn't they take him? Their D improving could be the key to winning a cup. Although, let's just not win and let the sabres take one first thx.
