Fwds: some decent defensive forwards, but unless Benn really bounces back and has a year like he was able to several seasons ago, this team may not see a 50 point scorer. Now, in Dallas, they are also a very low scoring team and still have success, so that is not a death knell. But Dallas' complementary forward crop is much stronger than this. The forwards are definitely bottom 8 in the league.

Defence: Pretty great, top 5 I think

Goaltending: top 5 in the league if Rinne has a decent 25 game. At least top 10.

Overall, probably pushing for a wildcard. If Benn keeps regressing, no playoffs. Just not enough goals, despite the great defensive end of things.

I think they'd maybe be a wild card team bc whose scoring on this team? Even the good forwards on here are like 2 way or power forwards

I think the back end is solid but I don't know if that forward group would have enough to get the job done

Despite the positional aspects, lines could be a lot better if you mix up the wingers:

Benn - Coleman - Hyman
Goodrow - Kerfoot - Killorn
Simmonds - Thornton - Bracco
Maroon - Spezza - Clutterbuck

Something like that might balance better I think

He's not a bad option based on who's on your team. You just have to sacrifice somewhere on the back end to get a true #1 C if you are going to sit back and play defense. You still have to be able to score to win.

D and goaltending might be good enough to be in the wildcard range but that forward group have zero faith in getting the job done

Solid D and Goaltending. However lots of dump and chase with 15 shots a game. Going to be tough to win.

Well, defense and goaltending is good, but this results in a lottery pick.

D and G brings them out of bottom 5. F prevents them from seriously contending for a playoff spot. They’d be like the Habs this year, could probably beat a top 10 team in a bo5 but over the course of a full season finish bottom 10 with no playoff hope.

The most fascinating thing about this construction is trying to figure out wtf criteria you used to select these players. I was going to guess that they're all from the same province, but then I saw Vasilevskiy's name.

Haha I was trying to figure out if there was a connection with the forward group what made him choose those players. Very unique choices don’t see everyday
