Value-wise Mika and Slavin have had rougly equal monetary value over the last 3 seasons (Mika = 41.6 mil, Slavin 40.6 mil). That's using Evolving Wild's $/xSPAR figures with their positional adjustment.
That being said, Mika logged 1100 less mins than Slavin over that span, making his /60 value considerably higher. There's not much question that Mika is the more valuable player on the ice when you factor in that with the position.
I don't think the Rangers or the Canes do it. They can't really afford to weaken an already super weak C position and Canes frankly don't need another C.
If Mika's going to be traded it's probably going to be to a 3rd team as part of an Eichel package.
