Nobody will disagree that Nylander is far more valuable than Severson, and that NJ is definitely not going to trade away Hughes.

The problem is that you think that Severson and a second= Engvall+Hirvonen (Essentially a low 2nd)+A lower second. That's the part that's not close.

I would just do the Nylander for Hughes part and leave it there. I mean you could tweak it with picks to even things out.

NJD is not trading Jack Hughes. If they did, would only be for Auston Matthews.

Severson for Nylander is a lot closer than Engvall, Hirvonen for Severson.

Toronto doesn't have any good d-prospects. Sandin, Liljegren are probably their best ....they would be 3rd or 4th best NJD's D pipeline.

Take out the picks, and then take out Severson (or add a first, maybe more). Hughes is NJ's best player in the future. You are going to have to give a big offer if you want him.

matthews has pretty much the same amount of points this year as nico has had in the last 2 years combined, had more points then both of those 2 combined this year and is better defensively, he is head over heels better than both and its not close, you say it would take matthews to get hughes but it would take nico and hughes to start it, make the argument about their both firsts but nico should have been 4th and jack hughes had one of the worst rookie seasons for a first overall pick in NHL history

I think Matthews is fantastic.
NJD isn't trading either of their young centers (let alone both of them).
They are building around them.
Nylander for Severson & Hughes is crazytown.
