I don't mean to critique so abruptly but

With Casey struggling, Montour a UFA and the pick ending up 20+ in part due to 88 that return seems almost more trouble than it's worth thanks to Okposo

😕

Unfortunately the Hawks have little leverage. I cannot imagine Kane and Toews wanting to stick around for a rebuild. They both have NMC so they can control where they will go. Chicago will either have to retain a huge chunk of salary or take a contract back. Okposo is only owed about 4 per year in actual salary so this is not a ton of cash to take back. Portillo would instantly be Chicago's best goalie prospect and despite the moves the Sabres have made this year they have picked in the top 10 for a decade straight and are in the toughest division in hockey.

Both Kane and Toews have said they won’t waive even with the situation. After 3 cups, all their other awards, and being 2 of the most famous and loved athletes in Chicago.. I doubt they uproot their family to go take a chance elsewhere. Maybe at the end of the contract they waive for a 3 month stint to win a cup but not today. Also, I think that is a garbage trade. If that trade didn’t have okposo it might be close. Dumping 6M will cost a 2nd/year... minimum... if you don’t believe it, see what dumping Marc Staal costed the NYR.

I highly doubt Kane wants to go back to Buffalo and I say this as a Sabres fan and Buffalonian.

I also doubt the Pegula's want to deal with him.

I also dont think it makes sense to have 4 players make almost half the cap.

Yeah except the Hawks management has said they are not trading Kane. so they have all the leverage. This proposal is an absolute joke.

I wouldn't trade the 3rd round pick for the pathetic return that you've provided.

If you want us to take Okposo it starts with Cozens and that's not even including Kane in the deal... which will cost you Quinn and 2 1sts

This deal might not even be fair value if you removed Kane.
