He could agree to a contract, MB could add a prospect/pick, whatever... that would be the ask

Yeah I understand what your asking but its clearly a no. It all comes down to age and status. Gallagher is past his prime and likely to get worse, while Meier is entering it and bound to get better. Making that kind of swap is stupid for a team thats already too old and has bad contracts
