No thx, we have no need/use for Andersen. With Hank gone you can bet 200$ that AG stays and you'd have to be very unlucky to be wrong.

He's worth more than a second lol. Let's just conveniently forget that he's got better numbers than Freddy over the past 2 seasons

Did he play as much as Freddie. Matt Murray was two Stanley Cups under his belt, had one bad season and got traded for a late 2nd round pick and an a a late round prospect. No way Georgiev is worth more than that.

And number coparison does not work his his favour either. Freddie had .909 this season and .917 last season, while having a .936 and 9.22 in the playoffs. Georgiev has .910 this season and 9.14 last season, without playing in the playoffs at all. not sure how this is better.

It’s funny, leafs fans really don’t know the skill of other teams/players but to add to that they don’t realize that Dubas has publicly announced that Freddy won’t be move and is their starter.

Have you seen the defensive team we have in front of AG in 18-19 for instance (which was, stats wise at least, his best NHL season so far)??? We literally had Shattenkirk, ADA, Pionk, Skjei (they two last I've mentionned weren't playing at their full capacity because Lindy Ruff), Staal and Smith. That's miles worse than Rielly, Muzzin, Gardiner, Hainsey, Zaitsev and Dermott.

And even with the offensive support that Freddy had in the 18-19 season AG had better numbers than him (he was literally better than Hank)
AG's GSAA in 18-19: 5,28
AG's GSAx in 18-19: 9,23
FA's GSAA in 18-19: 12,59
FA's GSAA in 18-19: 8,42

AG's GSAA in 19-20: -0,32
AG's GSAx in 19-20: 1,91
FA's GSAA in 19-20: -1,75
FA's GSAx in 19-20: -10,27

So in the GSAA category, FA was better than AG in 18-19 but was WORSE than him in 19-20
In the GSAx category, FA was WORSE than AG in 18-19 AND in 19-20

Stats really isn’t relevant when both goalies aren’t being moved by their GM’s. This whole thread is moot.. Georgiev is in his 2nd season and only getting better while Anderson is an aging stud in net on a bad defensive team. Can’t compare a rookie to a seasoned vet who is an allstar. After a few years of service Georgiev may be available for a hefty package but till then he will be playing very well as our 1B G. Again, neither G is moving so this thread is MOOT

Why did the Rangers play Hank in the playoffs and not him? And by the contract Hank just signed for the Caps, we know what the league think of Hank.

So even by TML fans' logic(relying at 90% on analytics for their opinion), AG is a BETTER goalie than FA even if he played on a non playoff team which has also been one of the worse defensive teams in the league over the past 2 seasons (for instance, just look at how many shots we've been allowing per game) yet you all claim that «hE's JuSt A bAcKuP». o by your logic, than wouldn't you admit that FA has been playing at a backup (or at least at a 1B) pace over the past 2 seasons? Yet you don't do that.

You're just homers who can't see how their team fails over and over again. Stop trying to deny it. You just proved it. AGAIN

Because Hank had the experience and his career numbers against the Canes were elite. Simple as that. Also for a parting shot because we probably knew we were going to buy him out

Not to mention Shesterkin being hurt

To pay our respect to him. Everyone knew those were his last games in NY. Fans wanted him to play as he was clearly going to be bought out or expected to retire early. The 2 young guns are better than him.

So, if the Rangers don't trust him in the playoffs, why should the Leafs. And yes, right, Shesterkin was hurt, so Georgiev did not manage to play when their nr. 1 was hurt.

Has nothing to do with trusting in playoffs. Let’s not try to spin a narrative. This thread is moot. Neither G will be moved

As I said, because they (wrongly) assumed that Hank's playoff experience was going to be better than AG which turned out to be wrong. Hank allowed 2-3 bad goals in this series, I guarantee you that AG wouldn't have done that.
