Sign me up, especially if Drysdale or Rossi is available at #6.

That's a pass for me. I like Manson, but a currently elite winger locked up for his prime for a 29 y/o #4 Dman with two years left and 9 draft slots? Sure, there is a drop in perceived talent after about pick 9, but no prospect is a guarantee and there is a very legitimate (albeit unlikely) possibility that the guy who goes at 15 ends up better than the guy at 6. Given the position the Leafs are in, why concede present value to slightly improve your chances at a better player in future?

I know this is not your trade, but it just doesn't make much sense to me.

I think the trade in itself is right especially if a gem like Rossi is available. But what brings it over the top for me is the extra 2.8 mil in cap, which allows you to bring in a 3-4 million dollar player in FA where trading Kerfoot and Johnsson wouldn’t get you all of that value back

That trade only gives you an extra 1.5ish in cap. I also think the value is just off, to be frank. Nylander is unquestionably far better/more valuable than Manson and while the same can be said about pick 6 compared to 15 - that value is theoretical until those players develop. And there again is the point about the position of the Leafs and it just doesn't really make sense for them.

Thats a completely fair point. I don't think Manson is near the player Nylander is/can be, but I think just based on the situation the leafs are in cap wise it's as good of a move you can make while strengthening your weakness and not weakening your strength. Again, not a slam dunk, just think its as good as we can do and I think Rossi or whoever is available probably have a higher ceiling than Nylander. I think best case scenario you find a way to work Rakell into the deal rather than Terry, but it would definitely cost more than what we're giving up.
