Why wouldn't Edmonton want Khaira? He's one of our strongest penalty killers. He gives Edmonton an advantage for the on-average 10% of the game that the Oilers would be expected to spend on the PK. He's a tad pricey, but they're better off keeping him than giving him away for free.

Given that Ennis won't be coming that cheap, you might as well keep Khaira on the 4th line.

It's cheaper for Edmonton to acquire Weal and a pick in exchange for Chiasson and then bury Weal than it is for them to recline effectively a league-min contract on Chiasson. Saves Montreal more cash too I believe than them paying for a retained Chiasson and Weal.

That would definitely be more beneficial for both teams.
