There's a lot I don't like here, but why trade Holl for a forward and then sign Gudas for more than Holl's contract? Holl is as good or better than Gudas, younger and cheaper. I'm in support of having Campbell of getting a bigger role. I'd much prefer him over Craig Anderson. Also where's dermott in this plan?

Not to mention that Lou Lamoriello in NYI only has $8.9m left to sign Matt Barzal, Ryan Pulock and at least 2-3 more guys to replace their UFAs. There's no way he's going to lose Beauvillier AND take on a bigger cap hit. That trade is completely ludicrous.

Right?!? In the 2015 entry draft, we traded down and passed on Travis Konecny so that we could pick Dermott at 34th overall (and then Bracco and Neilson with the added picks later on). It's crazy that people think we're just going to walk away from him now instead of re-signing him.

Teams can and likely will carry 20 or 21 man rosters this year to save costs, but they'll have the capspace necessary to call players up.
