The Isles do Domi Toews 1st 2021 for Laine and Stanley

Not according to one of the best twitter sources... He broke Panarin to NYR hours before it happened and Stone to Vegas before anyone else pretty much. He is a very good source.

If I’m being honest, If all we get for Laine is Domi + Toews, that’s an awful trade. If that move happens, he’s going to score 40+ goals a year and shove it up our hoop, this could be a move that leads to Chevy being fired.

I’d think that Wahlstrom+ would probably be going to the habs.

I mean, realistically he was playing fortnite a lot, but that was during his worst year (2018-19). Maybe you didn’t watch a single Jets game during the season this year, but he improved a whole lot. Looked a lot better all over the ice, was actually one of Winnipeg’s better defensive forwards.

Why the trade rumors? Tons of problem internally with the team. I firmly beleive that he doesnt to stay to winnipeg after his contract is over.
Is he going to be expensive to acquire? yes.
But the Jets, looking at their window will probably trade him for that reasons, filling center and help of defense needs.
Just dont put you head in the sand, these rumors about Laine do exist.

Never put my head in the sand, just on the side of not moving him. I have personal links to Jets personnel and while I can say that there are some issues with Laine in terms of wanting to play with scheifele and the organization not wanting that, I can’t say that there’s much else juice behind his issues with the team besides contract negotiations. I do agree that it’s likely he’d try and find the easiest route to FA but I also think he’s still worth more than Domi and Toews. Isles would like have to include a prospect and a 1st to balance out the trade. Toews would also need to be open to resigning long term.

I beleive there will be a loser in this story. The goal of any trade is to help both team, is it not about robbing one another. The gm are all buddies after all.

Which is why if a move like Laine for Domi and Toews would happen, the city of Winnipeg would burn, people would be really upset with the lacklustre return. I think realistically, the best fit for a Laine trade would be CAR if they could figure out the cap.
