Description
My picks in order you'll see them down there is:
1. Darcy Kuemper
2. Freddy Andersen
3. Robin Lehner
- Although while I think Kuemper is the best to get, I'm pretty sure that the one they'll end up getting is Freddy. I just don't think ARI would want to trade Kuemper in the division.
- For Lehner while I think he's a great goalie, I just don't believe it's the right choice to lock up a goalie long-term with this core, which will either need to boom or bust in the playoffs. If next seasons playoffs don't go farther than the 2nd round then I honestly believe they are heading for a retool and Treliving will be gone. Then you would be stuck with Lehner's contract while still good, wouldn't fit with the trajectory of the team. SO what I'm saying is, investing in Lehner means going in for the next couple years with this group.

ALSO I kept Murray and Holtby away from CGY because I believe they need to steer clear of them. Holtby's contract is gonna be bad I can tell, the money he wants + his play on the ice is a no for me. Murray I believe needs a new start, but his play from last years playoffs - now has not been good whatsoever. I don't trust him.

Yeah just think he's on the decline and the only way I see him taking 3 years is at 7mil, I've heard he's looking for 5yrs x 6mil.

That deal doesn't work for TOR.
Leafs don't need or have a spot for another LD like Kylington

Yeah I just feel like Andersen gets a bad rep with the Leafs, I do think he has choked before, but regularly he has good playoff numbers.

Kylington can also play the right side tho, they he can be a cheap, solid plug gap.

Yeah I don't like those numbers for Holtby. I could see Detroit doing that cuz it doesn't ****ing matter if they do that, cuz they bring in a good veteran goalie, good leader.

Well ARI isn't going to take Ritter back so the would just run a tandem of him and Kuemper. I hope that is who we target, saw him live a couple times (have family in Phoenix) and he is really damn good

Also Lehner >> Andersen

The current fiscal environment should put Calgary in a position of strength, as long as they can spend to the cap. This year and next many trades should favour teams with cap space and real money to spend. If played strategically, the current situation could see Calgary make some solid upgrades without having to give away too much. That might extend their competitive window.

The Kings and Ducks will need some time before they seriously challenge for playoff spots again. The Sharks look like they are in decline, the Coyotes appear to be in big trouble, Vegas has serious cap issues, and its going to take at least another season before the Oilers will be able to bring reasonable balance to their roster. The Canucks appear to be the only team on a serious upswing in the Pacific, so the Flames still have time to get it right.

I think Rittich could be a decent enough backup for 1 year behind Blackwood. If anything that's a goaltending similar to like Carolina.

we don’t need a backup. We have Schneider. If we need another goalie we could just get a back up via free agency. Not giving up assets for 1 year backup.

True, but Schneider is not a capable backup anymore best to buy him out

No need to buy him out. He is fine as a backup. We aren’t winning next year. Makes no sense to give up assets
