That's a no. Teräväinen was great this year. I'm quite certain that the difference between Turbo and Marner is not Pesce. Frankly, I don't even know what Canes do with a winger that costs more than Turbo and Pesce combined.

CAR's roster-building and contract-to-cap hit management of their players is outstanding. Balanced from top to bottom. It should be the example for NHL roster-building for GMs. But maybe it's because it's pristine that they can afford one contract like this if it means getting that top level elite play that Marner brings to put them over the top for years to come.

IMO marner doesn't put them over the top, especially at the cost of losing two of their best players

Honestly, the value of the contracts with TT and Pesce is so incredible, they are almost untradable. Plus, it's easy to forget that this Canes team has little cap space and needs room after the next season to sign Svech and Dougie.

It bears repeating... CAR has a fantastically constructed roster. Cup-contending team for years to come. Thx for the discussion. I hear your points -- this trade is a big no for CAR.
