As tempting as that 1OA might be, I bet Tampa still declines. Point's contract is out of this world for the type of player he is and he fills that C void when Stamkos is injured.

OK where to begin with this one?

1. The Sharks need cheap talent so they would be interested in Georgiev for sure but Strome would be out of their price range. The 2nd round pick is more valuable to them than Strome.
2. That is not nearly enough for Point and the Rangers rather have Trouba than McDonagh.
3. Kreider has a NMC clause.
4. Staal has a NMC clause though if he would waive I see this as being viable.

Why does Staal waive? Just because the Rangers want cap space? Avs will need cap space in 21/22. Kreider long term may not worth is cap.

McDonagh better than Trouba and cheaper by a little bit. Point is a top ten centers at age 24, you don't trade talent like that. You can have Cirelli for your #1 pick!

You're not getting #24 overall for Kreider with that contract and in this deep draft.

I think #22, 3rd and a prospect and the Bolts will listen on Cirelli.

1. The Sharks deal is actually favoured for the Sharks. They obviously need goaltending and they also need a 2C/3C. Strome fits that and they can easily get his price lower with the flat cap and the fact that he only broke out because he played with Panarin. Seems like a good deal for both sides.

2. The fact that Point only has 2 years left on his contract before a big raise, & the Lightning getting the #1 overall pick would certainly be enticing. McDonagh is miles better than Trouba so I don't see the Rangers having issues taking him back. I just doubt New York trades the #1 pick but the value actually isn't too bad.

3. Players waive NMC's all the time. They generally don't want to play for a team that doesn't want them and if the Rangers said they weren't gonna play Kreider he'd absolutely consider waiving. Colorado is a good fit where he could play with MacKinnon.

4. Ironic that you said Staal has a NMC and may consider waiving but you think Kreider can't. 🤔

#3/#4. Kreider is going to play with the Rangers...they aren't going to leave him in the pressbox when he is one of their top 6 forwards. Kreider won't waive because he just signed a new 7 year contract to remain in NY. If he waives and doesn't like living in Colorado he is stuck there for the duration of the contract or unless another trade can be worked out. Staal has one year left on his contract so he can more easily deal with a move. It is common sense why players with less term on their contracts waive MNC/NTC clauses while players with longer terms don't.

I agree, TB needs to move contracts. Cirelli a very good center however I am in the minority, he needs to improve offensively. Most of his goals from crashing the net not a proven shooter yet. See many posts where he is given 6 million or more, I think that is a mistake.

I am one of those who think he will get $6M since he is a very good 2 way center which is part of the reason why I think the Rangers (if they make a play for him) will overpay him on a contract because of his great defense.

You are not alone in that opinion. He was on the top line for the third game and did not seize the opportunity. With the current cap I do not think you pay 6 million for a defensive center even if he is one of the best in the business. Point signed a bridge deal at 6.75 and he is not of that level.

Agree 100% but with Point he took that number due to the bridge deal and him still being a RFA when it expires which TB was smart to do. I think Cirelli gets $6M because somebody will be buying out UFA years. If TB can convince him to take $3.5M-$4M on a bridge deal then I think he stays in TB.

I feel like Tampa is going to end up regretting giving Point a Bridge because if he keeps this up he could probably make around 11M

I don't think they will regret it if they win the cup but I get what you are saying. Giving him the bridge deal was really the only option with the their cap situation along with Tkachuk and Laine signing the same type of contracts as comps.

Hate to say it but either Cirelli or Sergachev is traded. I think it is Serg. TB has Hedman and McDonagh, Serg is emerging as a #1 defensemen. TB cannot afford what he is really worth.

I think you are correct. I've been saying for weeks on blogs that the Rangers should make a play for either of them whether it is by trade or offer sheet. I personally think if TB has to move one of them it would be in a trade right before/or at the draft so they can get at least a first round pick in this draft and then some other assets/futures. Not matching an offer sheet and getting picks in a weaker 2021 draft would not be wise imo.

Players get NMC to control where they go so it's not unexpected. If Kreider feels unwanted or doesn't like his lowered role in New York, he'd waive. It's not the first time someone with a NMC would waive and it's not the last.

I agree, this is a deep draft. Killorn, Paquette, Coburn and Johnson have to be moved. Killorn = a second, Paquette = a fourth, Coburn very little and Johnson value declining. That still is not enough so one of the RFA has to go.

I can see Killorn being moved as well as Paquette. As a TB fan, do you think Johnson waives his NTC? If he doesn't waive, will they to move someone else (Gourde?).

It is either Tyler or Gourde. Gourde I think has made himself very valuable to Tampa with this run. Tyler should waive if it is a good fit. If Stamkos was healthy Tyler would be fourth line at this time. Everyone wants to play.
