No from a CAR perspective, 1 year of Andersen is not with the downgrade from Trocheck to Kerfoot.

Just make it simple, 3rd for Andersen

Yes he does, our beat writer said in his podcast (was a long time ago, probably over a year now) that Fenton offered Dumba and Nino (before Nino was playing poorly for us) for Nylander and Toronto said no. That being said, I think Florida needs Ekblad more than Nylander.

Andersen has a bunch of value with his 1M actual salary.

It sucks for Carolina that they will have to be a budget team next year but this trade will help them with money issues, then they can sign him for 3 years 4-4.5M dollars.

4 years of Freddy for 3M a year...easy yes for the Canes owner.

Well Florida is losing their entire 2nd line to FA.

The reason I added AJ and Connoly is because FLA saves 3M on actual dollars for their contracts.

They save around 6M on this trade.

saving 6M + Nylander and Weegar at 3M or keeping Ekblad and getting a few picks for Weegar with little savings.

Money is huge right now, have to take that into account this offseason.

Agreed but after this trade their top pairing is Matheson-Stralman... not exactly guys you want playing 20+ minutes per night.

Who says they’ll be a budget team? Have they been outed by one of the insiderz like Arizona or Pitt so far as having an internal cap? Hmmm...no

The only thing that has come out of their front office is they they’ll be spending close to the cap again. Hmmmm

So yeah, the trade is crap and like I said, not worth the obvious downgrade

Dont think Floridas top priority will be icing the best possible lineup this year.

Getting Nylander and AJ long term at cheap actual dollars is huge. Allows them to spend more dollars at rebuilding the D over the next few years.

Weegar is a stud and Matheson can handle tough mins decently well. Florida is at a severe disadvantage with the dollars they are able to spend.

Easy no from Florida, doesn’t help them at all. Leafs want Ekblad. Cost is Sandin, Robertson, and Pitts first are a requirement. Not the entire package but pieces that are non-negotiable

If Florida deals Ekblad it's because ownership is shedding salary, Not taking similar salary on. So Nylander for Ekblad isn't happening Florida needs D help not more wingers.

Buddy, have you even looked at the team's who are rumored to be on internat budgets? Dundon has basically confirmed he'll spend as much as he needs to, and he will not make the team worse to save money. This is an easy no from Dundon (The canes owner)

in a flat cap world.... only rebuilding teams can take on 7.5 million with no significant cap going back the other way..

Believe whatever you wish.

They have been bottom 3 in revenue their entire existence. Reports is that over half the league will be operating on a budget.

Yes Florida will be one of them.

I Disagree.

fans haven't realized how important actual dollars are this year.

Pitt overpaid for Kapanen because of it.

Who said anything about Florida? I’m coming from a Canes perspective

I’m talking about the abhorrent trade suggested above, Trocheck and a 2nd for 1 year of Andersen and a lesser player in Kerfoot. Perhaps you missed the Trocheck to CAR trade this past February?

Okay lets wait and see.

Come back to me in a month and see how Carolina operates.

Wont be pretty for a lot of teams, it sucks but its the reality of today. Money will triumph all this offseason.

Andersen has a lot of value.

Come back to me when we see Andersens return.

1m dollars for him.

Sucks to be a fan of a budget team this year. Sad reality.

Andersen will return “something useful” and “not that expensive”

Directly from your team’s Athetic beat writer who has also speculated that Andersen will likely return slightly more than Jake Allen did. A desperate team likely pays at most a 2nd rd pick.

No Pittsburgh overpaid because anything short of the Cup is a failure for the franchise and their core is getting older and the window is closing. That’s why they overpaid

A 2C and a 2nd.... take out the 2C and you are much closer to his true value. Carolina won’t give you trocheck for 1 year of a goalie who had the same stat line as Petr freakin Mrazek last year lol
