Might get it done for only 1 year rental on Brodin but it looks light.

Risto trade looks like an overpayment from Calgary.

You’d definitely get outbid on that Brodin offer.

I'm really interested to see what Buffalo does this year. This is about the closest to a "blank slate" that they've had in quite some time, with the sheer number of UFA's and RFA's they're dealing with.

I feel like there's going to be some big trades happening. But I know the Pegula's would probably prefer to just move money around as opposed to adding much more. Does that improve the team enough to get it done and for them to make the playoffs?

Buying out Okposo would be a salary cap hit disaster but the Pegula's would technically save $3 million if they did. Is that worth it? (I don't think so, but I'm just talking out loud).

The Pegulas aren't cheap but they have hired some awful GMs for their Sabres and Bills in previous seasons.
Sabres shouldn't be trading for a one year rental of Brodin. Sabres have to ride out some bad contracts, and hope their young ELCs become good NHLers. Don't know how they are even going to be better than Boston and Tampa in their division....maybe never. Then they also have to compete with the Leafs who will spend to the cap, and the Wings will do the same soon.

They ARENT CHEAP!?!

They asked only the Sabres staff to take less money, they’ve openly put all their funds into One Buffalo gear to help give their family a base to build off of and its overpriced crap. They traded ROR mainly due to not wanting to pay his bonus if he didn’t want to be here even though he was just honest. They haven’t upgraded any part of the arena, game day presentation and have next to no fan support. They hire and fire left and right hoping to get lucky like the Bills as winning fixes everything but they won’t ever win if they pinch pennies and don’t build a functional team.

They have been bleeding money since Kim took over (see above) and have no interest in building a winner. I honestly believe Jack is gone in two years
