Oh yeah I know he's a beast in the playoffs. Still Toronto's problem is defense and to an extent offensive depth. getting another star player doesn't really solve anything.

There is honestly less than no sense to this trade. Nylander is gonna keep getting better, he's just entering his prime. Couture, while great, the guy is turning 32 and that's gonna be a brutal contract when he's done. Nylander has a way higher ceiling than Couture has ever performed in his career, let alone when he's leaving his prime

We need defence, a change of scenery on goal, and defensive forward depth not couture haha

Well, our offensive depth is very one dimensional. We need some role players: net front guys, grinders, defensive minded 2 way guys etc., not 5'10" guys are who skilled, quick, and offensively gifted. We have THAT type of forward depth in spades, but it's not everything

The only way a Couture to TO makes sense is if JT has had a mind set change and wants to be in SJ then it's a 1 for 1 swap
