To be honest, you don't get Eichel with them in the deal.

This trade was posted by a Sabres fan as an Eichel deal they would accept. I threw in Kahun though because the original trade was actually ridiculously in Buffalo's favour. If you take point totals from every player's best season, you just added 62 points to your lineup. Monahan and Eichel both have the same career highs. If you took this season then you subtracted 1 point. Obviously Buffalo would talk to Gaudreau and Monahan about extensions before agreeing to the deal. If this trade was suggested heading into this season then I'd be assaulted by Flames fans. One down year doesn't so drastically shift the landscape of this trade that it's not even close. You could switch Kahun to Girgensons. Your lines could be something like Kahun-Monahan-Reinhart, Gaudreau-Johansson-Skinner, Olofsson-Cozens-Simmonds vs (currently) Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart, Olofsson-Johansson-Kahun, Vesey-Cozens-Simmonds. you could go from 1 great line, 1 good line and 1 meh line to 2 great lines and 1 good line which just so happens to be the model ran by a team that in the last 3 years has won its division twice and made it to the Stanley Cup Final which is a hell of a lot better than 1 line teams like Buffalo and Toronto which have combined for the 1st overall pick, 7th overall pick, 8th overall pick, 2 1st round exits and a round 0 exit in the same time. People get so worried about Jack Eichel's value and ignore the fact that this trade makes the Buffalo Sabres a better hockey team then they were if the trade didn't happen

I doubt he was a serious fan. This offer wouldn't happen.
