Teams need

WPG need a 2C badly, they won’t have any good option at C at 10th and they get a top 5ish best defensive forward in the league who could sign at 5-5M-6M for 6-7 years

I think they mean only if Lundell, Rossi, and Perfetti are gone, which would mean a much weaker group of prospects who they could pick. Winnipeg is targeting a 2nd line center to play behind Scheifele and Danault perfectly fits that bill. If I were Winnipeg I would go for it, they're built to win now or very soon so I don't see the pick helping them as much as a proven NHL player.

Same as the other thread that had this trade. Winnipeg won't move 10OA for Danault. Vesalainen maybe, but not with a first attached.

Why should Winnipeg pay more for Danault than Vegas did for Stone, when Stone is a much better player?

I don't like it, sooner trade Domi. I'd sooner have Danault Suzuki And KK playing anywhere from 16 to 20 mins a night. Evan's looked good in the playoffs give him more ice as he grow into the league. two years down the line you can trade Danault if needed or not.

First Danault is a center
Second Stone wasn’t that good in OTT ( 2nd liner ) in Vegas 1st liner
Third Vegas got fleeced

They got Brannstrom who’s a better prospect than Vesalainen by far and got a 2nd round pick

Danault is a Selke type player, if you sign him 6-7 years I guarantee you it’s worth it

Maybe you don’t know but Danault doesn’t want to play behind Suzuki and Kotkaniemi in the future and rather go play somewhere else in a top 6.Danault got 1 year remaining and he’s a UFA, if we don’t trade him this summer we probably lose him next summer. Not happening

Did he tell you this right to you? What makes you think that he plays behind the two young center's. Domi and Tatar are the most like forward to go. Danault and Gallagher get signed before next year starts.

Multiple reasons.
One they need a centre and danault is a very good one. You have to pay to get quality players. Also don’t compare trades, you sound kinda dumb. Stone went for a player who was just picked 15 overall and guess what, kapanen was just traded for 15 overall. Stone also didn’t come with an extension. Another thing is almost always picks and prospects have different value. Another thing is that lundell who seems to be a main target for the jets is gone in this situation. It’s tough but danault helps you become legit cup contenders and your team hasn’t lost anybody. Or you can stay put and keep spinning your tires as you get nowhere hoping that you somehow find that very good 2c to play behind scheifele. It’s the price you pay to possibly win a championship

Press conference. He said he doesn’t like playing in a defensive roll. He wants to generate offence and improve offensively along with playing top end defence

Stone is far better than Danault ever has been, Danault is good defensively, meh offensively, not strong, not physical, not a hitter.

Winnipeg would be interested in him but only at a fair price and that would not include 10OA.

Is he better than Stone? No. Why should be return more.

Add I said Danault is good defensively. Everything else he is just okay at. Don't believe the gullible Jets fans in this thread. Winnipeg won't move 10OA for Danault.

As for now you’re the only one Jets fan who wouldn’t do Danault vs 10th + Vesalainen so you might be the one who consider that a prospect not even drafted yet is worth more than a 2C

Again you’re using the trade as comparison, so Larsson in EDM could get Ehlers or Connor ?

Other than the first guy who replied in the thread. Danault is a high end 3C, low end 2C due to lack of offense and at 27 probably won't be improving. A career high of 53 points playing 1C. So, while he'll get a nice return, unless you find a sucker like tsyls as a GM, you won't get more than Ottawa got for Stone.

What?? How are those related? The worst GM in hockey history made a bad trade. I don't get it.

I'm trying to bring in an actual comparable of a better player, with a longer extension, going for less. Which comparables do you have?

I think you miscounted. I count

3 Montreal fans for the deal
2 Montreal fans against
1 gullible Winnipeg fan for the deal
1 Winnipeg fan against
1 neutral fan against.

So, it's not as popular as you want everyone to believe.

Maybe you add them to the ignore list but 3 days ago when we did the first post there was a couple 4-5 Jets fans agreeing on the trade
