The Wild GM went out and said he'd pay for a goalie upgrade. Dubnyk was a massive disappointment for them and will be a backup with limited starts.

If they want a significant goalie upgrade they'll be paying that kind of money either way.

Kapanen is a key piece for our team. Roy is just a high end 3rd pairing guy on a very nice contract for 1 year. It's basically trading Kapanen for Justin Holl just to save some cap space for 1 year.

I rather trade pieces that we don't have plans for long term.
