No just exploring possible returns. He is a great leader and is a hometown player. He serves his community a lot. Management love him as well.

In terms of need...probably not. Wild is looking for a C, not a RW.

They would be paying for his playmaking ability. He is a 95 plus point player and will only get better. He is still very young.

as much as I like this team, I don't see pietrangelo signing for that. More like 9 for 5 years and the leafs cannot entertain that type of contract for him

So? MN will have some players coming off the books after next year and aren't cap tight now. Marner has a cap killing contract (RFA signed to a UFA deal because of reasons).

I'd almost like to see this trade happen just to watch Fiala explode playing with Matthews or Tavares and then watch Dubas give him some insane contract because Dubas.

Wild decline. Guerin made it pretty clear during a recent podcast Fiala is the player they consider the key part of their offense and the guy they'll build around since they don't have a franchise center. Marner is great, but he's not the type of player that Fiala is.
