If you go back and actually do the math on teams that won cups....Corey Crawford in 2015 was the highest % of the cap assigned to the goalie position that's ever won the cup since the cap era started.....AND he just signed his new deal the year before. You can't pay goalies $10M and expect to win. There are just too many goalies out there that'll "get hot" and then the $10M could have been spent better elsewhere. Matt Murray, Jordan Binnington, Crawford in the early years. Antti Niemi. Heck even Holtby was only $6M two years ago.

Turris for Matheson may make some sense for both clubs just because both teams have soured on them and they have long term contracts with big money -- NSH needs defense and FLA needs centers. Not saying I would do it, but at least that part of the deal has some merit. As for Borgstrom + 4th for Fabbro...that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off in value.
