Let AL ease his way in at 3LW then bump him up. If KK struggles slide him down, Kreider to RW and AL to 2LW

exactly especially knowing DQ hes starting at 3LW

1st and Bowers, you need to move Him, more than we need him

What about Bowers and make the First conditional on Kreiders production, like if he gets 60 points its a first, but if he doesn't get to that its their 2021 2nd.

It doesn't really make sense to have conditions based on the 1st season of production when you're acquiring a player with a 7 year contract. But I like your outside-the-box thinking. I'd rather do something around Jost + COL 2021 2nd, maybe another small add if needed.

I’m fine with that value bc imo it Avs do this type of move they know they are one piece away you win in. The next 3 years. They will figure out the future Mack contract cap stuff later

This could just be me, but I don't think Jost has a lot of upside, seems like 3rd line center and only that

Isn't a young and defensively reliable 3C with some offensive upside exactly what Rangers need? I mean it's basically what you were hoping Lias would turn into.

You draft BPA and worry about it later. In my view, even though Byfield fills a need, it needs to be Lafreniere.

Not saying they won't take Lafreniere but still, they will have a top6 LW and two elite LWs.

That's incorrect. His new contract includes a full NMC starting July 1st, 2020. On July 1st, 2024 it becomes a 15 team trade list.

Meaning that he can veto any trade Rangers want to make until July 1st, 2024. That veto power will mean that the market for him will be extremely short, possibly as short as 1 team if a contender with capspace like Colorado wants him.

If that’s true I very much doubt he would be interested in being traded. The Rangers will have to look elsewhere to unload money. No trade clauses and no movement clauses are the kiss of death in a frozen cap league.

Bowers doesn't have the offence to be a 2C. He'll be a very good 3C though. I doubt Sakic will entertain moving him though as he's our best bottom 6 C prospect and his game is absolutely tailor made for the type of game we play, given that he has a unique combination of size and speed. Our scouts liked him at the draft before Ottawa picked him, and he was a key part of the return in the Duchene trade.

Jost has higher offensive upside but doesn't fit the style of this team as well given that he prefers playing a slower and more cerebral game on the cycle. Jost has extremely good analytics defensively though, and will be pretty cheap to resign so he'd be a nice pickup for Rangers for their 3rd line.

Thats the thing though, we don't need more offensive minded guys we need strong defensive forwards, because we only have Zibanejad and Fast, and Fast is most likely not getting resigned
