Criminally underplayed. He's on the smaller side, but is a puck moving machine. He's a lefty, but plays both sides. He could QB a PP if given the chance. Paul Maurice refuses to give him ice time... but he's a former AHL defenseman of the year. I think his opportunities with Winnipeg are over with Samberg and Heinola on the way.

I don't think that's enough for Staal, but I also don't see Staal wanting to be traded. Maybe at the next deadline he changes his mind, but I really see him retiring with the Wild. I think he's a player that MIN would honor his NTC as if it were a NMC, but we'll see.

Montreal dont need another LW.. and Perreault is overpayed. For Weal and a 4th round pick ? Its interesting but Montreal dont have money to put on LW anymore. They already have Drouin 5.5M, Tatar 4.8M, Byron 3.4M and Lehkonen 2.4M.

Even while being packed at LW, Claude Julien has switched Domi for some games at LW cause he lost his spot at center to Suzuki. He's currently playing vs Penguins as 4th line center. Montreal wouldn't be interested into takin Perreault and his cap.

I'd give Ville another season. I really like him, but I'd be apprehensive about he and Samberg down the left side.

I think Heinola is more nhl ready than samberg. Love them both though
