I wouldn't play Laf on the first line in his first year. I'd say keep Hyman on first and play Laf second so he can develop for a year or so. Perhaps move him up for a little in the season to see how he does.

I'd say on the surface that Kap for Murray is a good start point.
But the truth is, I don't think Kapanen is on the penguins radar.
Their problem is needing a top 6 RW who has a good shot.
That isn't mr race down the ice and pound the puck off the back wall Kapanen.
Kapanen ain't exactly the solution to filling in the RW position on the PP. And that is where this conversation stops.

If getting Kapanen meant taking Kerfoot, I'm still talking to Toronto. It's a no about he 3rd going back though as the $3.5M hit is rough. Murray for Kapanen+small is about right. Kerfoot isn't a full out cap dump, but that $3.5M is rough like I said. If the Pens could flip him as his hit is $3.5M but his samary moving forward is $3M, so $500K cap "free"... eh... Maybe someone would take him for a 3rd or 4th.
Pittsburgh ends up with Murray for Kapanen, 4th... which is about right.
