Description
I'm pretty sure he's the only one of this series that still play as I'm writing this.

He was drafted 62th overall in the famous 2003 NHL Draft.

His NHL debut came in the 06-07 season, when he scored 10 goals and 23 pts in 49 games, very good first NHL season IMO.

His breakout season came in the 08-09 season, when he scored 31 goals while putting up 54 pts. He scored 31 goals once more in the 10-11 season while remaining a very good top 6 forward for the Blues until the 15-16 offseason, when he decided to sign with the Boston Bruins. Now, at the time, that signing really puzzled be because I thought to myself «Chara is nearing the age of 40, and while they do have very good incoming D prospects such as Carlo and McAvoy they need more help at D than at F, especially at C where they already have Bergeron and Krejci. Of course don't forget that at that time, Jacob Forsbacka-Karlsson was viewed as a potential top 9 forward for them.

His 1st season in BOS was very disappointing to say the least. He only scored 17 goals (he scored 21 the year before) while putting up 39 pts (he put up 45 the year before). Now, such a season wasn't a complete desaster either, because he did play «only» 74 games and it's not like he was a complete liability on the ice but still there are alarming signs. Especially considering he had a contract until the 20-21 season.

In 17-18 he actually was a very decent top 9 forward for the Bruins, putting up 33 pts including 14 goals in 57 games.

He hoped to build on that the next season, being the 18-19 one but he really started to decline that year. He only scored 7 goals and 20 pts in 70 games.

This year, after yet another disappointing and a lot of times being scratched, he was moved (with retention) to the Ducks along with a 2020 1st rounder and Axel Andersson in exchange for Ondrej Kase.

Up until this point in his career, he has 245 goals to his record to go along with 557 points in 950 NHL games. I predict he will reach 1000 games next season with the Ducks or the next one IF a team signs him as a 4C to bring some experience/grit.

Everyone knew his deal with Boston wasn't a good one since day one. He was good in the first two seasons ('16-18). Great guy and a leader; unfortunate he declined so fast, hopefully he gets another chance at the Cup.

Happy we got Kase in the deal

Why do you think Sweeney thought it was a good idea to sign him to that deal?

We needed someone to replace Eriksson on RW. Prefered Eriksson and would have kept him (not 6Y deal tho) and I'm sure he wouldn't be as bad as he was/is with VAN since joining them.
