10 team NTC so not sure on that, Lafferty is also worth a 3/4 round pick

We can get a better Saad deal, and we likely have Crawford next season, so no need for Murray.

Genuinely wondering what the return is expected to be from Chicago fans... I value him and Murray at around a late 1st or early 2nd +. Do you really think it's that far off? He's a 40 point guy nowadays and the NTC is not that lenient if he doesn't get moved before it starts. Look at the Hall return a year removed from a Hart trophy as a UFA

If Saad was at 50% retained there might be a start to a conversation there. Saad straight, no way, non starter.

Saad gets back a first and a prospect at the deadline, probably more with retention/an extension in place.

Murray had a bad year, and any interested party could offer sheet him for the max compensation at a 2nd and be golden. Pens probably can't match, especially with Jarry also needing a new contract.

Same way Chicago feels, obviously not with retention, about Murray.

Murray had a tough start this year (with a very strong last month) but Saad has had 3 tough years, hasn't hit 50 points since 2017. With max retention I think he gets a first straight up at the deadline. This roster shows we could fit Murray pretty easily up to ~5.5M, they won't let him go for a 4M offer sheet. Just seems like a mutually beneficial trade given that CHI doesn't have much of a future goalie plan

Saad is a two way player, and he was awesome this year for us. If you only value a player by points, Saad isn't your guy and wouldn't be that guy in PIT. I would seriously doubt PIT pays both if their starters, but if that's the case, good for you guys. Well gladly keep Saad, sell him if we have to, keep Crawford and invest in a goalie during the draft.

Crawford is 35, who plays goalie until the one you draft is ready?

Crawford, then Delia, then a free agent if needed.

Your number 1B (who needs to get paid and had a bad year) isn't netting you Saad, a 40-50 point top 6 two way winger.

Murray is our #1A. And yes he had a bad year, but he’s still worth way more than saad.

Players like saad come a dime a dozen, but Murray’s upside is too high. Pens would regret that trade for a decade.

"Matt murray is worth way more than saad" hahaha that's hilarious. Can't see any team giving more than a 2nd rounder for Murray. Saad would net atleast a 1st rounder

Trade us Jarry instead then. I would prefer him over Murray 100%. Its been said 1000 times on this site, the hawks don't want murray

Hawks don't want murray, and the pens don't have the pieces we want to get a saad deal done. Pens fans can stop posting these ACGM's. Hawks will wait till the TDL and asses if we are in contention for the playoffs or not. If not we move him for a 1st and a prospect easily. If we are we keep him for the playoffs and look to extend him this summer

Ah yes, because the Blackhawks and the Penguins were both really good team's, and both goaltenders faced similar enough circumstances to make that judgment based on stats from a season ago. cheers

You think what you want, but a healthy Murray playing his game is way better than Crawford now. Pens won’t sell low on him unless he absolutely blows the series against MTL
