Sheldon Keefe frees Marner to his natural centre ice position to showcase his superior passing and skating skills to win a cup in Toronto this year. Could be one of the biggest position switches in NHL history since Red Kelly moved to centre ice by the Leafs.

Did you notice what he did while playing centre ice for the London Knights? He has the strength and experience now to make the switch and the hockey world is going to be blown away. They use to say Gretzky was weak on faceoffs so do not buy your logic.

I watched Marner playing live for London Knights in the memorial cup in Red Deer and I can ensure you he was playing centre ice. He was absolutely dynamite with his superior skating and hockey sense. He may be the next Max Bentley for the Leafs.

Personally, I believe Marner has the tools to play center, but I am not thrilled with moving Tavares to the wing. He is too slow & he doesn't win any board battles. His skillset is best to keep at center.

Matthews is leaps and bounds better at holding down the center of the ice than marner js
