I mean early second round is usually where you can find hidden gems falling out of the first round. DeBrincat, Girard, Hart, Romanov, Aho, Carlo, Hague, Timmins, Robertson and Barbashev are all examples of what could be found at 40OA and it's not like I had to search in the past 10 drafts for this, they're mainly from 3 different drafts (Barbashev's the only one on the fourth year I looked). I wouldn't do this trade from Montreal pov as I think there'd be better value -than a middle six young roster player and a 20 pick jump- somewhere else.

I love agreeing on stuff! You're right that IF they are able to keep Demelo the trade makes no sense but if they don't and they can reach an extension agreement prior to the trade then it could make more sense,but still value looks off for me.
