Lmfao Murray is the better goalie it’s idiotic to think he’s not. Let’s ignore that the penguins had JACK JOHNSON playing top pairing at one point bc of how many injuries they had this year. cap friendly is a strange place where I agree with Caps fans more than I do with any other team or even fellow Penguins fans.

The 1st cup of the back 2 backs Murray literally won the series for the penguins. They would get outshot by 20 and win bc that guy was a brick wall. Penguins had so many injuries this year on defense so it’s not hard to understand why Murray might have had a down year.

the 1st coming back was also good. Allowed us to grab Freddie who performed well for us. Its just a shame our defense in front of him was rarely good.

Lou traded Spalling to gain a 2nd Rd pick also, which helped turn the Kessel trade to look like Kessel, swap of 2nd Rd picks and spare tires for Anderson, Kapanen and spare parts.

actually Dubas did the kessel trade funny enough, Lou just approved of it. Lou did the 1st pick for Anderson trade. In general Dubas insisted on it this deal and made sure Kapenan was in it quoting "If Kapanen wasn't in the deal we probably wouldn't be standing here,"

Based off what? Overrated is such a stupid narrative. He’s won 2 cups in 4 years. I’d say he’s pretty successful. You can make a case for why or why not a player is or isn’t but the only thing we know is that he understands how to win when it matters. So intelligent people understand that Murray would make most teams better. I don’t think he’s a top 10 goalie but who does? He’s a great goalie that has a ton of success.

Ok, Crosby Malkin Kessel had nothing to do with it? He stepped in in the playoffs and had a good couple of series, the 2nd cup he started 10 games. He is absolutely mediocre in the regular season, and he certainly not worth a 1st and roster player.

Ullmark has similar career stats and had a much better year. If I trade Ullmark for a 1st, let alone a roster player on top of that Id get ROASTED. I never said teams wont want to pick him up but its going to be a lot cheaper than this

Ulmark was better this year because once again Murray had an awful year. Last season Murray rocked a .919 save percentage and Ulmark had a .905. Murray was excellent for two Stanley cup runs. He had a rough year. He will be just fine
