Take a hike buddy. Montreal fans have this weird notion that we have to deal with them and that we have to pay them to take Allen. There’s more than a fair chance Price gets injured again so Allen is a good choice, so don’t act like you’re doing us a favor in taking him.

I’d guess that Kovy gets a contract around $1 to $1.5 million plus bonuses, so this is just an estimate about how much he would make. If he makes a bit more or a bit less it doesn’t matter, because we have the cap space.

I think Allen is a good fit if we can’t attract a good ufa (again). I’d like Thompson instead of Evans as a 4c for next year. The old guy is a good leader and has speed. For the rest, it’s realistic.

I love Thompson, but IMO the difference between him & Evans is minimal, and I’d like to get Evans some experience playing in the NHL. He has nothing left to prove in Laval, and he’d be taking playing time away from another prospect.

For the sake of this team, it doesn’t really matter whether the habs are giving up a pick or getting a pick when they trade for Allen. Either way it’s most likely that the player picked has no effect on anyone’s roster, and even if they do, we’re probably 4-5 years away before that happens.
