Perrault is still a solid bottom-sixer, he just takes up too much cap room. Frolik got a fourth back from Buffalo with a year left on his deal, but Perrault's injury history pushed his value down a round. The Jets get cap space, while the Sens get a veteran winger who can help them reach the cap floor and be flipped at the deadline for a higher mid-round pick.
With the money the Jets save from Perrault, they sign Kyle Clifford as a defensive presence and a solid leader, and trade for Miles Wood from the Devils. Wood fits in with the Jets window and has a little bit of everything, while the Devils get a 6/7 Dman in Dahlstrom and a decent defence prosect in Niku who can play both sides and get some quality ice time in NJ.
While the Bolts don't want to move Cirelli, they're in a nasty cap crunch and most of the players in that crunch have NTC's that allow them to control if they leave or not. In that situation, the Bolts would likely have to sell them for pennies on the dollar. This return, however, offers up a good package for the second-line centre: A first round pick, a middle-six forward who can develop into something more, a B+/A- winger prospect, and an OK defence prospect who gets too much flak in WPG.
Demelo has been fantastic, and is exactly what the Jets need long term. They need to pay up to keep him around. Also, Beaulieu returns as a solid third pairing guy until the second of Samberg/Heinola is ready, and Bitetto is the number 7 for a locker room that loves him.
So for everyone who thinks that the Jets are so good at drafting here's a good example of why that's pretty overblown, three former 1st round picks and another 1st for one former 3rd round pick to fill ONE spot in the lineup.. Lol
I am definitely down for this and would definitely pull the trigger on Cirelli, dude is quietly elite
That is why Tampa is going to do everything they can to keep him, he is more then quietly elite he is among the top best 2-way centers in the league in my opinion. He has also said he wants to stay in Tampa so hopefully he and Tampa sign a bridge deal.

Yeah I would do what I could to keep him if I was TBL!
This looks good dont get me wrong, but thext next laine poink contracts would kill us even with little and lowry gone that 8 ish so lets say
Poink gets6 over term and laine 9 that leaves 3mish 4 copp and say 2 additions + raises 4 rfas. Given a boom 2019 draft pick this is possibly a cup team or a bust
Great amgm thoe what yall think
Too much for DeMelo. I was thinking 3/3.5M as it gives him three years with a solid team to earn that last contract. Too much for Cirelli and would be better off O/Sheeting him at that point and moving the excess weight for pics in return. Love the ideas though.
