IMO. No, that does not get you the 6th pick. As this draft stands now. 1-2 is super elite. 3-6 is elite. 7-12 is VERY good. While the rest could be very good to good in the 1st round.

it's actually not incredibly deep. anybody that knows what they're talking about will tell you it is top heavy, and that's what makes it a great class. Devils trading 6th overall this year is probably the worst decision they could possibly make.

In my view, you start looking for mid-6 forwards after you have your top 6 slots filled. New Jersey has Hischier, Hughes, Gusev and Wood, plus Palmieri. I think they look for another elite player rather than get two prospects in the "top-6/top-4" category. Their choice will probably be between Alex Holtz and Marco Rossi. Either one feels more likely to make an impact greater than 13 + 23 or 16 + 21 (which is what I think the Rangers two picks actually are).
