Hoffman is definitely a good player. Anyone with his expected production on a cheap contract will cost more than a first

Think reinhart is worth more then that but NJ is also looking at high picks for the next couple years so I dont think they risk one of them being 1 overall for Reinhart and I know you said reverts to the next year if in the top 7 but even that next year is likely a top 5 pick

They need top pairing defenceman on both LHD and RHD, a scoring winger, and for both Hughes and Hischier to take steps forward to even be close to a wild card team. All of which arent going to happen in the next 3 years. They have some good pieces that can play and compete but no game breakers, yet.
