Why would the Jets do this? Murray is always injured and has 1 year left, Anderson had 4 points this season in 26 games, and Wennberg is an over paid 3C who can’t score goals.

1- WPG isn’t trading Laine.

2- Columbus can’t afford the cap on him and keeping Werenski, Jones, PLD and others.

This is an amazing trade why wouldn't you do it?

Because we don’t have the cap room in 2 years to keep Laine, Jones, Werenski, Merzlinkins and others to keep the team competitive. We already have to write off the 4.6 from Murray and 4+ from Savard to keep everyone we currently have.

Players who’s contracts are up in 2 years or less from Columbus already included, Werenski, Jones, Savard Murray, Texier, Bjorkstrand, Bremstrom, Korpisalo, Merzlinkins, Folingo, PLD, Anderson, Gavrikov and Peeke... how would we afford to keep all of them and add Laine? We can’t. We already have to lose players to keep the ones we have. Laine is good but if we have no one to put with him how good can he be?

Maybe Jones, Dubois and a 1st...
