I was thinking something like (Kakko, Howden, Lundkvist, Nils, liemeux and 2 2nds). Toronto gets some depth, can sign a big top 4 RHD in the UFA. But in general finding a very good marner trade aint that ez.

Maybe add Adam Fox to the Leafs trade? Then maybe the Leafs think about it...

You know what the big part of this trade is for the leafs, cap space. Plus Kaapo was literally the 2nd pick in the draft. Most Ranger fans like myself wouldn't do Fox for Marner 1 for 1, so ur crazy if u think that's what's missing

Don't forget Yakupov was a 1st overall pick who had a better rookie season than Kakko.

The Leafs aren't trading their 2nd best player for Kakko who isn't even in the top 5 for NY...

That's like saying Ottawa will trade you Brannstrom for Panarin...

Fox was just to give you an idea of how much you'd have to add to make it interesting for Toronto.

1. Only way Marner gets traded is in a 1for1 trade for a good young RD, think Seth Jones (CBJ probably don't do that)
2. Kaapo's value isn't all that high rn. The only thing he has going for him is draft pedigree.
3. You can't honestly think trading marner for
- Howden: a centre who has a career high of 9 goals (would be a fourth liner behind Matthews, Tavares, Kerfoot)
- Kakko: a winger who will probably be good one day but he also might not be (23 points in 66 games)
- and a second round pick
is a fair value. Marner hit 90 points last year, and if he played 82 games this year he was gonna do it again. It doesn't matter if they leafs are trying to clear cap space for Pietrangelo, it would make zero sense for Dubas to do the Rangers a favour like this.
