DeMelo gets either 3 x 3.5 or 4 x 3.5 and noway Murray returns a 1st especially not with a deep draft like this one.

I'm basing it off of the Islanders being pick 21 if they're in the top 15 it'd obviously be a lesser return

Lehner got a 1st in the 2015 draft with a cap dump by Ottawa. And Lehner hasn't won 2 stanley cups

At the time of lehners trade to buffalo, Murray was 100% better. Lenher was a backup goalie on Ottawa. He only had a .905 save percentage the year he was traded in a backup role. In a vacuum, Murray’s value is MUCH more than what Lenher’s was at the time of his trade to buffalo. However, this year the goalie market is very different

Why? Isn't that the goal of the NHL is to win the stanley cup? And are goalies not the most important position on the team? So wouldn't it not be a stretch to say Murray had a substantial role in us winning two cups? Obviously Lehner was on a pretty bad team in Buffalo but great goalies can carry average teams into the playoffs and good teams into the finals like Fleury did with Vegas.
