Likely don’t need another winger unless we made a big trade for one... I don’t see them starting kravtsov on the 4th line but I could see him playing the left wing on the 3rd line bc he’s played there before and having gauthier on the 4th line. A couple of the contracts are alittle high on money but otherwise solid

All good as far as an attempt. Some things to know:

1) The KZB line doesn't really get broken up and has a ridiculous amount of chemistry.
2) The Rangers foundation for their cup window is pretty much set, so they don't need to add any major pieces. At this point, the only idea is to set up their cap allocation, and that they trade players that have been jumped in the depth chart or who are blocking player development at their peak value or before their value decreases.

That means:
a) Strome
b) Trouba
c) Hajek
d) Howden

Use those pieces to backfill areas of need (3rd LW, bottom 4 LHD, middle 6 C)... and that's an ideal offseason.

Also means not acquiring any RW, or bringing back Fast.

And if Smith or Staal is in your lineup you lost.

Smith can be stashed in AHL. it's not a big deal they're both in contract years and can be traded at deadline.

TBH Panarin can play with anyone, and putting him with some young guys (Chytil at C and one of Gauthier/Kravtsov/Kakko at RW) is prob the move.

Interesting on Trouba; already?
* Is it having DeAng and Fox step-in and provide better & much cheaper upside?

Yeah has nothing to do with Trouba as a player. He's still great.

Has everything to do with Deangelo and Fox being younger/better/cheaper.

That's the idea. It's either move Chytil to 2C or get a ridiculously good 2C that's objectively much better than Chytil.

About half way there:

1) Fast walks
2) No point in signing Strome to that contract if he's a 3C. His production is really dependent on his linemates, so now he's an overpaid 3C. Better to trade him.
3) Deangelo needs to play above Trouba in the lineup. And that makes Trouba an overpaid 2nd pair dman. Better to trade him.
4) Igor starts over Georgy
5) Lias is probably an upgrade over Howden...Better to deal him.

So this gets pretty easy. Leave the top 6. Deal Trouba/Strome/Howden/Hajek. Put Lindgren with Fox. Those trades should net you your 3LW/3C/3LHD and some picks and save you some cap space.

Fair. Again i dont know much.

But They just signed Trouba, chances are they dont trade him. And Lias has said he wants out, they just traded FOR Howden

...Rangers have a history of trading players right before NMC's kick in (Brassard and Stepan both fell into this category). There's like a 50/50 chance they deal him.

Lias was all over the place, I think they evaluate in preseason: https://www.foreverblueshirts.com/report-lias-andersson-opens-up-about-why-he-left-the-rangers/

Howden and Andersson were acquired within a year of each other...at this point they'll go with the better player.

Two quick questions:

1) Any word on CBO's?
*Yes/No/Maybe/One or Two...

2) Looks 99% like flat cap correct?

Confirmed Flat cap.
No Confirmed CBO, but I think the NHL know that there are teams that need it to survive basically (financially)
