Description
Just some thoughts around re-signings and potential college free agents the sharks can potentially incorporate in their line up next year. Do I think this is realistiprobably not I haven't incorporated a CBO either as I didn't know who to pick between Vlasic and Jones. How would you use the potential cap space from a CBO? let me know, keep it respectful. Stay safe and healthy hockey fans!

If Nattinen signs it'll be to play in the NHL, he would be a great add for the sharks though, loved watching him on my hometown Spitfires, its the shame he isnt with my Ducks anymore

Kudos for making a realistic Sorenson trade.

If the Sharks sign Granlund he'll be a top 6 winger and not a 3C, it's been established on here that he's not a center and the Sharks need a top 6 winger anyway which would make a pretty good top 6 but wow does that bottom 6 look brutal, to be fair I'm not overly familiar with those players histories so maybe there's some potential but there's not too many recognizable names.

If there is a compliance buyout should the Sharks use it on Vlasic and sign Lehner??

If we buyout Vlasic I doubt we will sign Lehner. 12+ million is too much to be spending on goalies. If we buyout Jones though, I would hope we would sign someone like Lehner or Markström.

Compliance buyout Vlasic and sign Markstrom?
Just think that buying out Vlasic provides the most cap space to work with other then Karlsson but buying out Ek65 already would be pretty crazy.
Gotta think Markstrom will be a bit cheaper then Lehner and that might leave some $$ to improve the lineup somewhere else.
Not a Sharks fan but they really need to get their goaltending figured out and as good as say Greiss, Halak and Khudobin have all been this season they all play on good defensive teams and they're all 34 or older, if I'm Wilson I wouldn't want to hang my seasons hopes on a tandem of Jones and any of them and the other UFA goalies will either cost a lot like Holtby or aren't coming off that great a season like Talbot.
Guess there's say Matt Murray if the Pens want to move him but what's he gonna cost to get and pay.

Idk Joe, I think the Sharks are in a dilly of a pickle.. Lol

I wouldn't be surprised if we used a compliance buyout on Jones or Vlasic. I think everyone is a little frustrated with Jones, while I haven't heard any frustration about Vlasic. Vlasic is getting paid more for longer and his contract will be worse down the road, but at least he can still play. I made 2 teams with the scenario's if we bought out Jones and Vlasic, and I think we are a very solid team if we get a compliance buyout.

I think there are some valid points here as it pertains to our goaltending situation. All signs point to Jones getting another shot sadly. I think because of the term on his contract and the perception that the heavy workload in his years as a starter for the sharks burned him out. Personally speaking, I think the team has a decent pipeline of puck-moving defenders coming up but aging defencemen on long contracts on the main roster which won't allow them to break into the lineup. Therefore if there is any way to reconstruct the blueline around Karlsson and find a way to move burns along with COB'ing Vlasic that would allow them to integrate their prospects like Merkely, Knaizev, and even Pasichnuk if he develops into something. Having a more mobile blueline overall, and trying to rebuild the blue line around the goalie might be a better model akin to what the Islanders and Stars have done. This is one of my more "crazy" ideas but I feel like freeing up that cap is the best way to get more help at forward while at the same time attempting to get mileage out of that Jones contract and simultaneously getting younger and faster at the defense position. Of course, I also think free agents should be consistently evaluated, I am by no means saying that we should rely solely on our prospect pool because it's definitely not the best LOL.

Yeah, I really liked how he was able to transition his game from the playmaking center to a goal-scoring winger. Where do you think he'd slot in this lineup? I thought 3rd line leftwing which I think would have a lot of competition though. Dahlen, Leonard, and maybe even Gregor. I think

I put Granlund at 3C because I think the Sharks need 3 scoring lines to compete. He's without a doubt top 6 caliber player, however, I think the sharks would be wise to evenly distribute time their forwards play by creating a balanced top 9 with the 4th line being PK'ers and utility forwards that can slide up and down the lineup. That's just my opinion though, I could be terribly wrong too LOL.

My opinion is probably biased but I could see him pushing mid six/second pp time
