    2 THINGS.
First are there actually league rumors that there could be a compliance buyout after all of this?
Second, is that Douglas Murray as your profile pic.....

Thanks, I saw a few post on here and didn't know if it was actually stated or if it was wild fan speculation. I'm sure itll all stay a mystery.
And I almost forgot pit picked him up. that year pit should have won the cup. probably would have if it wasn't for Rask.

Pens had a goaltending meltdown in fleury. From 2010-2013 (and 2014 he had a minor meltdown but recovered) he was awful in the playoffs and counted us several shots at the cup. 2012 and 2013 pens were probably the best Pittsburgh teams that didn’t win a cup. As for the Murray display photo, it’s a meme haha. We paid 2 2nd round picks (one became bertuzzi) for a guy who couldn’t skate. Absolute waste. That would never happen in the NHL today

Staal got 2nd line time in CAR and put up numbers similar to Blueger with a lot more help.

I don't think Staal is worth 3.75 at this point to be honest with you.

I get it he's a big bodied center. He's decent at faceoffs. He'd be a decent add. But not at that cost. If they could land him at 2 million on a 2 year deal. Fine.
Other than that, I'd rather see them give Blueger a go at 3C and let the youth take the 4C role in either Nikita or Hallander.

Staal is still a great defensive centre. He’s got a lot more offensive punch than blueger. He’s a guy who can slide up to a 2C role due to injury (which will happen cause pens are always injured)

That's just it. You say he can slide up to 2C....but his production there sucked this year and it's not like he didn't have help. His production was also poor last year and he spent a good bit of time hurt.

I'm not saying he can't help. I'm saying 3.75 for his numbers on a 3 year deal, is not the wisest of decisions. I don't think he's worth 3.75.

if hes bought out, that's what he would cost approx. I would take the risk, maybe 2 year deal.

Staal’s an interesting idea. I’ve never liked the idea of recycling former players, but they’ve tried with Hagelin, did it with Sheary, so it’s not off the table. 3 for 3.75 seems a little high I agree, because one of my pet peeves is not paying the 3C too much because he’s will always(injury not withstanding)play behind Sid and Geno. McCann is fine there but I’d prefer a C that can win a draw at least 49% of the time. I was lobbying for Blueger for 3C before this season...but seeing him this year...and the Bleu ZARtans line...I’m good with Blueger as 4C which is basically 3C#2 with how Sully uses them.
