Description

With Tampa needing to shed Salary this offseason and out of the candidates of guys they could trade for relief in Johnson, Gourde, Palat, they have full NTCs this summer

Killorn is the only one with a M-NTC July 1st.

That being said would assets like Graves and Kamanev be realistic enough for the lightning to move Killorn who need the cap space but get younger cost controlled guys back to fill out the roster enough to complete a trade.

I dont care about draft picks and such, the core of the idea is the RFAs for Killorn, draft picks arent gong to help the lightning win a cup right now

Jost or Zadorov are interchangeable in this scenario as well but if the idea is cost controlled, Graves and Kam will cost less than Zads or Jost as RFAs

Wouldn't the idea be to force them to make a move they dont want to? I also though that Graves was doing good in Colorado

hes still a super valuable player, its not like teams are going to get him for free.

Graves is doing well but one of him or Zadorov will be moved this offseason, they just need to make space for Byram and then eventually Timmins. Get the max return on a player like Graves when you can, its just the business side of things

I just tossed a number down, I didnt think too hard on the RFA, as you notice I didnt even sign Jost to the roster yet. Its more of the trade idea

If Tampa are trading Killorn due to cap reasons it's likely that they will prefer picks or prospects in return, rather than roster players (i.e. salary).

Whatever the case I don't think they have any interest in Graves even at a low cap hit because they already have Hedman/McDonaugh/Sergachev/Coburn as LHD's.

Tampa fans in various forums seem to think Killorn's value is somewhere between a late 1st on the high end, and 2nd + 3rd on the low end. I tend towards the low end of that as it's likely going to be a buyers market. Killorn also has some measure of control by dictating 11 teams he doesn't want to go to, and so he can eliminate a bunch of rebuilding teams with capspace, making it harder for BB to find a trade partner with capspace.
