D-Men: The Rangers have a log-jam on RHD, the Leafs have a log-jam on LHD. Swapping these D makes sense for both team's positional needs and both are RFAs. Deangelo is having a better season than Dermott so the picks coming back from TO is to make up that difference.

Forwards: Both players aren't making it back to their NHL club and could probably use a change of situation for another shot at the NHL.

This happens if the Blues resign Pietrangelo
Blues Add: A proven 20 goal scorer LW to add to their depth right away. Liljegren replaces the lost depth on the RHD side in STL although probably not fully ready for that shot this year. + a 1st round pick.

Leafs Add: the #1 RHD they so desperately need

LAK Add: 2 decent prospects. Brooks is ready for a shot at 4th line NHL duties. Kara is promising but still a little ways off in development. The 2nd is to make up the value particularly with the retention.

Leafs Add: A versatile big forward who can score and fit into the 3rd line
