I am one of the biggest "non fans" of Barrie. But the Leafs can't really move him without a RHD replacement. So 99% chance he is staying for this season out of necessity.
Marner? In a cap league, the Leafs would probably have to take similar amount of money back in any trade. Is Marner' 11m X 5 contract considered good/great value by other teams? Maybe only the Leafs and many Leaf fans think he worth his contract.

Not as much as you would think. He is over paid and hasnt shown the ability to play without elite center.

one of his best stretches of hockey came with Tyler Bozak as his C, so yes, he has shown that ability.

Its also no surprise that Tavares had a carrer year in goals when playing with Marner, and yet again Matthews is this year when playing with him. I think that is a pretty good reason.

It doesn't matter when his game away from the puck is equal to a 700k plug. He needs to be better, much better and planted on a line with JT long term. The team is much better with Matthews and Marner split up

Marner is a very creative player with the puck with elite vision and is an assist machine. Teams to target would be the ones with elite goal scoring in need of someone to get them the puck on the regular and play in most in game situations. That being said, I don't see the Leafs moving him.

Barrie can go anytime as far as I am concerned. Especially if whatever he returns can be parlayed into a legit top four defensive defence man.
